Happy New Year 2026

あけましておめでとうございます

新しい年が始まりました。

少し振り返ってみると、、

去年はうつわと一緒にたくさんの場所へ行きました。

オーストラリア、中国、台湾、シンガポール、インドネシア、、

日本を離れると、新しいことに出会う感動もあるけれど、改めて気づくことも多くあります。

その最たるものは、どこへ行っても、人々が集まって美味しいものを食べる時間は笑顔に溢れた豊かなものであるということ。私たちが日々作り出しているうつわが、遠く離れた場所で、そういう時間の一部であるのを目にするたびに、「この仕事をしていて良かった、」と心底思います。

世界を見渡せば、あちこちで諍いが起こり不穏な空気が流れている昨今。

一緒にテーブルを囲んで食べたり飲んだりしながら、家族のこと、暮らしている場所のこと、自慢の郷土料理のこと、好きな音楽や物語のこと、可愛いがったている猫や犬のこと、、、そんな他愛もないおしゃべりに花を咲かせれば、お互い同じ人間、見た目や暮らす場所が違っても、友情を築き、理解し合える部分が増えるのではないのだろうか、とか、、考えます。世の中そんなにシンプルじゃないとわかっていても、世界中がいろいろな形で瞬時に繋がれる様になった今こそ、そういう平和な繋がりが広がることを願わずにはいられません。

とにかく。

世界平和を願いながら、いいうつわをたくさんお届けできるようにがんばります。

A new year has begun.

Looking back a little...

Last year, we traveled to many places with our works.

Australia, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia...

Leaving Japan brings the joy of encountering new things, but it also makes us realize many things anew.

The most profound realization is this: wherever you go, the time people spend gathered around good food is always rich and filled with smiles. Every time I see the tableware we create daily becoming part of such moments in distant lands, I feel deep in my heart, “I'm so glad we do this work.”

Looking around the world today, conflicts are breaking out everywhere, and an unsettling atmosphere hangs heavy.

I find myself thinking: if we could gather around a table together, eating and drinking, and let the conversation flow freely—about family, the places we live, our favorite local dishes, beloved music or stories, cherished cats and dogs... even such seemingly casual chatter, as fellow human beings, would find more common ground to build friendships and mutual understanding, regardless of how we look or where we live? Even knowing the world isn't that simple, now that the entire world can connect instantly in countless ways, I can't help but hope such peaceful connections will spread.

Anyway.

Wishing for world peace, we'll do our best to deliver many beautiful handmade tablewares around the world. Thank you for your continued support this year.
