餅つき大会 2025 Closing the year with mochi pounding party

今年も大谷製陶所では年末恒例の一大イベント、餅つき大会を開催することができました。

親戚友人弟子っ子みんなで集まって、たくさんお餅をついたり食べたり、ワイワイ楽しく2025年を締めくくりました。

Today was our important annual year-end event day, the Mochi-Making party.

Relatives, friends, and apprentices all gathered together, pounding and eating lots of mochi, wrapping up 2025 with lively fun.

毎年この日は「製陶所」が「製餅所」に変身します。

Every year on this day, the “Pottery Studio” transforms into a “Mochi-Making Studio.”

小さかった子供たちがどんどん成長して、年下の子達に餅つき指南したり、仲間を誘って会を盛り上げてくれたり、、、私たちは段取りだけ整えた後は、あーだこーだ口出しするだけで、どんどん餅ができあがってたのもしい限り。若者たちのおかげで、あっという間に20キロのお米がふわふわつやつやのお餅になりました。

Thanks to the young folks, 20kg of rice turned into fluffy, glossy mochi in no time. Good job!

餅をついたり、外でボールを追いかけたり、猫と一緒に山に登ったり、、、

元気な若者を見ていると、来年もきっと良い年になるような気持ちになりました。
