恒例となりました、お付き合いのあるレストランが大谷製陶所庭に集結して催されるBBQ大会。

夏本番直前、日差しも優しく、そよ風心地よい、ほんの一瞬の最高の季節。

しかし、梅雨シーズンということもあり、晴か雨かは運次第、、なのですが、、

イベントにかける皆の熱い思いが天に届いて（？）今年も青空の下開催できました！

この会の素晴らしいところは、レストランとか焼き物を作るとかいう仕事を離れて、それぞれの得意なことを思う存分披露して、みんなと共有すること。イキイキと、肉や野菜や魚など素材について、ワインについて、お菓子について、焼くことについて、窯を作ることについて、それぞれの話に皆が耳を傾ける姿は、とびきり楽しい物語を聞く子供のよう。

人は、ずっと昔からこんなふうに食卓を囲んで飲んだり語ったりしながら繋がりを深めていったのだろうなあ、と、想いを馳せる素晴らしい時間でした。

It’s becoming our annual tradition: a special BBQ gathering with our parter restaurants in Otani Pottery Studio garden was held the other day.

Just before the height of summer, when the sun is gentle and the breeze is refreshing - a fleeting moment of the best season. However, since it’s also the rainy season, whether it’s sunny or rainy is entirely up to luck... Perhaps everyone’s passionate hopes for this event reached the heaven, we were able to hold it under the blue sky!

The wonderful thing about this event is that, setting aside our day jobs - whether running restaurants or making pottery - we get to showcase our individual talents to our hearts’ content and share them with everyone. Seeing people listen intently as each person spoke with such enthusiasm about ingredients like meat, vegetables, and fish; about wine; about desserts; about grilling; and about building kilns—it was like watching children listening to a fun story.

It was a wonderful time that made me reflect on how, since time immemorial, people have likely deepened their bonds by gathering around the table like this - drinking, chatting, and sharing stories.
